BY TRAIN
Bologna Central Station is the main Italian railway junction and a key crossroads for all the most important national and international lines. InterCity and EuroStar (Freccia Rossa) high-speed trains connect it to all the most important Italian cities. Plus, many direct night trains link Bologna with Germany, France, Holland and Austria – namely with Bonn, Koeln, Amsterdam, Paris and Vienna. Moreover, as French travellers know, TGV now arrives in Turin and Milan, where EuroStar trains offer direct connections to Bologna.

BY CAR

The main motorway connection is the A1 (Autostrada del Sole), directly linking Bologna with Milan, Florence, Rome and with three other main routes. The A1 can be entered from Turin, Genoa or Brescia (via the A21, near Piacenza), from Genoa and La Spezia (via by the A15, near Parma) and from the Brenner Pass, Verona and Mantua (via the A22, near Modena). Moreover, the A13 motorway directly connects the Bologna area to Ancona, Rimini and Ravenna. All the motorways exits lead into the city ring road (follow the signs Tangenziale), from which the roads to every direction branch off. By getting to Bologna, the easiest way to reach MEC S.p.A headquarters is to exit the A1 at Bologna Borgo Panigale and to follow the city’s ring road’s signs leading to the airport; travellers coming from Rome and Florence may also take the A1 Bologna Casalecchio exit and follow the ring road’s signs in the abovementioned direction.
